position Description:

This position is responsible for working with and coordinating the efforts of business owners, technical resources, and application experts primarily in a project role. Responsibilities include taking a leadership role in defining and implementing business technology enabled business initiatives and implement industry standard best practices to critical business processes. The Business Analyst will perform activities related to requirements gathering, solution design, testing, documentation, and support. The position reports to a Business Technology manager, and may work under various Project Managers, depending on the assignment.

Job Duties:
Define, develop and implement solutions to meet business requirements in coordination with technical resources, business users, third-party support, and other resources
Perform set ups, configurations, and modifications within School Specialty-and-amp;#39;s business systems including Oracle eBusiness Suite
Identify and map interfaces between Oracle eBusiness Suite and other business systems
Document and present information in the form of formal proposals and/or presentations to business users, including and senior leadership
Coordinate with business owners and Business Technology professionals on a project basis to deploy new business process improvement projects, including working with software providers during the implementation cycle, capture of business requirements, documented design of system solutions to meet functional requirements, execute unit and functional testing prior to coordinating user acceptance testing with functional business associates
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and modify systems to resolve functional issues

Requirements:

Required:
Bachelor-and-amp;#39;s Degree or equivalent experience with 4+ years experience in business analysis including hands-on system setups and configurations
Experience incorporating and communicating business requirements into functional solutions for development resources
Possess the skills to understand user flow, site flow, common usability standards and how the user will interact with business applications.
Possess the skills to understand information architecture
Experience formulating test strategies, as well as write and execute test scripts
Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
Proven ability to quickly adapt and understand a diverse set of technologies
Ability to build and maintain customer credibility with internal customers

o Manage expectations of internal customers
Ability to make decisions with the appropriate level of information
o Knowing what questions to ask to gather information
o Ability to direct further analysis with specific objectives

Desired:
Working knowledge of Oracle configurations / setups for 11i E-Business Suite including functional modules, setups, profile options, and flex-fields
Ability to understand technical table structures and research data in those structures using tools such as PL/SQL to resolve issues.
