Hubbell Incorporated is an international manufacturer of quality electrical and electronic products for a broad range of non-residential and residential construction, industrial and utility applications. The current open position is with the Hubbell Power Systems (HPS) division.  The Power Systems division manufactures a wide variety of transmission, distribution, substation, OEM and telecommunications products used by utilities. In addition, HPS products are used in the civil construction, transportation, gas and water industries. Products include construction and switching products, tools, insulators, arresters, pole line hardware, cable accessories, test equipment, transformer bushings and polymer precast enclosures and equipment pads.

HPS recognized brands include Anderson, Chance, CDR, Delmar, Electro Composites, Hipotronics, Hubbell Cable Accessories, Fargo, ohio Brass, PCORE, Polycast, Quazite and USCO with combined service to customers for more than 100 years with quality, innovative products.

SUMMARY:  The position will utilize SAP to schedule production activity to meet customer and company objectives.  Will also locate, qualify and manage material suppliers.

RESPONSIBILITIES:



Revises schedule according to work order specifications, established priorities, and availability or capability of workers, parts, material, machines, and equipment.

Identify and qualify new low-cost suppliers for raw materials.

Reviews master production schedule and work orders.

Establishes priorities for specific customer orders.

Confers with department supervisors to determine progress of work and to provide information on changes in processing methods received from engineering departments.

Compiles and prepares production reports as required.

Reviews and releases manufacturing production orders to meet shipping dates according to sales forecasts or customer orders.

Analyzes production requirements and plant capacity data used to determine human resource requirements.

Analyzes plans, lot sizes, lead times, and replenishment strategies in order to balance inventory investment, customer service, and productivity.

Confers with production teams and factory schedulers to set promise dates for new orders.

Ensures cycle count adjustments are completed in timely manner.

Manage relationships and performance of existing suppliers and take action as required.

Manage purchasing activities to ensure that sufficient parts are on hand to meet short range schedules for make-to-order products.

Analyzes and adjusts, as necessary, purchasing activities that are affected by changes in raw material and equipment.

Assist with physical inventory preparation and work to minimize supermarket size.

Ensure competitive pricing from the supplier base

Manage supplier activity to ensure the timely release of purchase orders and timely arrival of materials in the plant.

Works to make shared decisions and recommendations concerning MRP schedules, product substitution and lead times.

Participate in, and at times, lead CIP initiatives.

Other miscellaneous duties as assigned.


REQUIREMENTS:

 Required:


BS Degree.

Must have a minimum of three years of planning and purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment.

Must have strong experience working with MRP systems.

Must possess strong written and oral communication skills.

Must have experience managing supplier relationships and negotiations.


Preferred:


Experience working specifically with SAP.
